Chetham’s School of Music is seeking Instrumental Tutor/s (Piano) to join the internationally renowned specialist music school located in Manchester city centre. Chetham’s is a magical place, home to the UK’s largest specialist music school, the oldest library in the English speaking world and a world‑class concert venue all in the heart of Manchester.
Responsibilities
- Exceptional Tutors of Piano with proven pedagogical experience at the highest of standards, committed to the education and musical development of talented young people (aged 8‑18).
- Focus on two distinct areas:
- 1‑2‑1 tuition (2nd study piano students) – approximately 20 hours per week, scheduled within main school days (Monday‑Friday). Hours may be split between more than one tutor.
- Group tuition (classical improvisation) – initially 7 hours per week, on Wednesdays (08.30‑04.30pm).
- Significant depth of experience in developing students’ holistic musical education, supporting the aim to create robust, rounded, and relevant musicians of the future, combining technical proficiency with musical and personal breadth.
Start date: September 2026 (subject to recruitment checks).
