The Global Markets Strategic Finance & Analytics team provides budget oversight, reporting, strategic planning and analytical decision making support to the Global Markets team and in‑region business teams across EMEA. In addition, this team supports identifying and pursuing opportunities to drive growth and business impact for our international business.
While your formal reporting structure is into the Director, Strategic Finance & Analytics, EMEA, on a day‑to‑day basis you will work closely with the cross‑functional team that is based in‑region. You will directly support Country Managers (and their teams) based around EMEA to drive clear reporting, produce actionable insight, track core KPIs, evaluate investment decisions and work cross‑functionally to develop strategies to solve problems. The individual is expected to be a strong cross‑functional business partner who has a combination of hands‑on analytical skills, financial modelling expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to package their insights into strong narratives appropriate for senior executive consumption.
The ideal candidate relishes the opportunity to roll up their sleeves to drive meaningful impact, possess strong stakeholder management skills, and is a self‑starter that is comfortable with ambiguity in a fast paced global work environment. This person will have a high degree of visibility with senior management within the organization, including the Regional Director of EMEA, EMEA Marketing Director and Finance Leadership.
A typical day includes:
- Partnering with a few Country Managers in driving performance management, including development and ongoing analysis of KPIs, creating goals/OKRs and measuring performance.
- Developing a deep understanding of what levers drive growth and efficiency for our business and translating that into investment cases and initiatives to drive business impact.
- Partnering with the business on annual planning and budgeting, laying out risks and opportunities and debating strategies and capital allocation to maximise growth.
- Leading EMEA’s monthly business review and speaking to key drivers of variance to goal and potential actions to improve performance.
- Modelling and summarising the implications of a regulatory action and potential mitigating actions we could take to minimise business impact.
- Working with the Regional Marketing team to discuss changes to channel or country spend and helping bridge local and regional considerations.
- Conducting analytical deep dives into business trends across EMEA and different segments of the business.
- Independently leading data extraction, analysis, visualisation, and presentation.
- Building ad‑hoc reporting and analysis to help business operations and other cross‑functional partners understand the drivers of performance for key performance indicators.
Your expertise includes:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in an analytical role such as Strategic Finance, Financial Planning and Analytics (FP&A), Strategy/Management Consulting, Investment Banking or Business Operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, engineering, statistics or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative orientation; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- Superb financial modelling and quantitative analysis skills, SQL experience highly preferred.
- Strong analytical abilities and able to synthesise complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to put together clear, polished, insightful recommendations for peers, managers and senior management.
- Comfortable with financial modelling in Excel, and willing to gather internal and external data points to help build a comprehensive business case.
- Relevant sector experience in B2C technology businesses is preferred, particularly Marketplace/Classifieds/E‑Commerce businesses; broader experience in B2B technology, including Fintech and B2B Software will also be considered.
- Ability to travel around 10‑15% of the time.
This role is expected to work hybrid in London (1‑2 days a week in the office).
