Location: Southwest (Devon)

Job Type: Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, there may be requirements to start earlier and/or finish later, reimbursed by overtime payments in accordance with Airband's overtime policy. On-call on a rota system, which will be reimbursed as per Airband's On Call / Overtime policy.

Salary: £31,000 to £36,000 Per Annum DOE + Company Vehicle

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that wireless infrastructure and fibre cabinet equipment within your assigned area are fully maintained, reliable and operating at optimum performance. The role involves installing, servicing and repairing Airband's fixed wireless access network and associated fibre cabinet equipment. You will play a key part in maintaining service availability, resolving faults efficiently and supporting the ongoing performance of the network.

You will also be expected to set a strong example in both work ethic and standards, consistently delivering high-quality work and maintaining accurate evidence, including photographic proof where required. This position requires a proactive approach, attention to detail and a commitment to keeping the network operating to the highest possible standard.

Responsibilities

  • Predominantly working on our wireless infrastructure which includes a variety of mast/tower structures to install/service radio equipment.
  • As Infrastructure engineer, you will enjoy working in a varied environment.
  • You will be out on the road traveling to sites throughout your dedicated area, delivering a high level of installation, servicing, and repair work to our wireless infrastructure across both the traditional ISP and customer network elements.
  • Working with microwave radio links – building/landing/panning and configuring.
  • Installing and configuring Airband's FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) network of Access points across numerous frequency bands and technologies.
  • Installing and building cabinets/compounds that house the wireless/network hardware.
  • Fibre infrastructure in cabinets such as switches/routers/OLT installing and commissioning.
  • Site cabling – Cat 5/6 and coax as well as fibre patching.
  • Rectification/replacement of basic elements of UPS, batteries and associated hardware.
  • Preventative Maintenance.
  • Site Documentation (existing sites).
  • You will ensure that all works undertaken complies to Airband's H&S policies.
  • As you will use and have access to Airband's fleet, you will be responsible to ensure that these are maintained in good working order, highlighting any issues to the appropriate person.

  • Rigging tickets/experience of tower climbing and microwave radio works.
  • Experience of cabinet/network infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of basic AC and also DC power cabling/working.

  • Proven experience working at height.
  • Proven Experience working in a high risk environment. Demonstrating H&S adherence at all times.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external Divisions and Clients.
