Airband is an internet service provider bringing high-speed broadband to rural communities from North Wales down to Devon and Somerset. Having built our network, our strategic focus is to increase our customer connections, and we are looking for a talented NetDevOps Engineer to support us on the next step of our journey.
What you can expect in the role:
Our NetDevOps Engineer forms part of our dedicated Network Engineering Division, reporting to the Head of Networks. The role offers the opportunity to be responsible for automation, optimisation and streamlining Airband’s network automation tasks. The role is focused on integrating modern software practices into network operations to improve efficiency, scalability and reliability.
What you need to succeed in the Role:
- You will have proven experience of working within NetDevOps or DevOps within a telecommunications carrier or internet service provider.
- Experience with APIs for networking and systems.
- Effective collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with software, network infrastructure, and NetDevOps teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are key in order to troubleshoot complex network issues and develop automation solutions.
- You will have an adaptable and resilient attitude with a willingness to adopt and learn emerging tools and frameworks.
Plus:
- CCNP or equivalent vendor certification, or appropriate experience is desirable.
- Proficiency in Python, Perl, Go and Bash for scripting and automation.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
- Experience with network hardware (e.g., routers, switches).
- Familiarity with tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Chef, Nautobot.
- Knowledge of tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix for performance and fault monitoring.
