About the role
The Financial Accountant reports into the Finance manager and is a detail-orientated and analytical team member maintaining accurate financial records ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting on financial reporting and analysis. This role will play a key role in month-end and year-end close processes, financial statements preparation and audit coordination.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. IFRS or GAAP)
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare financial statements, reports and supporting schedules
- Reconcile general ledger accounts including bank, balance sheet and intercompany accounts
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations
- Monitor and analyse financial data to identify discrepancies or trends
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
What we would like you to have:
- Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- 2 years of financial management or accounting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent understanding of financial principles and reporting.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
