About the role as Heating System Design Engineer at Aira:
The survey/design visit is a key aspect of the customer journey to ensure an installation goes ahead as planned, and as the customer expects. You will find solutions to problems, ensure the project works in the interests of both the customer and Aira, and provide excellent customer service along the way. You will have the technical expertise to offer additional products and services we may offer in the interests of the customer.
What you’ll be doing as Heating System Design Engineer at Aira:
- Have the necessary qualifications, training, and experience to design high quality air source heat pump installations for domestic properties.
- Gather information from the quote, property and your survey data to generate an accurate heat loss calculation and emitter output requirements.
- Find solutions to any technical issues where possible to ensure an installation can still go ahead.
- Report any issues which may affect installation to your line manager from the customer's property.
- Keep up to date with all manufacturer's guidance, and any legislative changes including but not limited to heat pumps, low carbon heating, clean energy, and building regulations.
- Operate within required Aira’s efficiency guidelines as well as MCS etc.
What might a day look like?
- Attend customer properties in your designated area.
- Conduct a site survey and collect data relevant to the installation requirements.
- Carry out a room by room heat loss assessment.
- Determine which radiators need to be replaced, and communicate this with your customer.
- Answer any technical queries the customer may have.
- Communicate any price changes with the customer and explain the reason for these.
- Obtain approval from the customer for your proposal to go ahead.
- Create a list of materials required for the installation to be carried out.
