Role Purpose of Commercial Manager
To support the Operations Director in the Sales and Customer Support requirements of the business.
Key responsibilities of Commercial Manager
- To interact with existing customers and potential customers as follows:
- To receive enquiries for services and to liaise with the Operations Director in respect of capability and capacity.
- To raise quotations and liaise with customers to ensure they meet the customers’ requirements.
- To research customers’ requirements and recommend capability enhancements for materials and services.
- To assist in the preparation of sales proposals and contractual documents.
- To raise sales orders.
- To finalise the price and complete sales orders, for Finance to raise the invoices.
- To prepare reports and KPIs for customers on the progress of work.
- To build customer relationships, particularly with key customers, to promote informal communication, as well as formal.
- To drive sales revenue.
- To identify and land new sales customers and opportunities.
- To develop and maintain the Company website.
- To update social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram and ILS to promote the Company.
- To manage and conduct the marketing activity of the business to include attendance at exhibitions, corporate events and customer entertaining.
- To report to the QA Dept all unairworthy conditions, however revealed, for appropriate disposition.
- To comply with a safe working environment and culture, conducive to good and efficient workshop practices.
- To adhere to procedures to ensure that commercial activities are performed in accordance with the company MOE and to ensure that commercial records are maintained accurately and completely.
- To liaise with other employees to resolve issues.
Key skills/experience/qualifications
Essential
- Business Studies qualification to at least Level 3
- Experience within an aviation MRO environment is essential
- You can justify being given a high level of responsibility to represent the company to senior management at large customers, setting prices, and driving profitability into the business.
- Happy to work on the administrative side of this role
- Ability to manage their workflow with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Presentation skills
- Good Office 365 skills
- Timekeeping
- Ability to represent the Company to customers, smartly and intelligently, to build rapport
- To hold a current UK driving licence
