Overview
As a member of the Site Team, you will work under the direction of the Site Manager providing day to day support in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment. Duties will include unlocking and checking the school site each morning, locking the school site each evening, maintaining and cleaning the outside areas, responding to emergency cleaning requests, portering, and repairs and maintenance as appropriate to the post holder\’s capabilities. The Site Team are proactive in looking for site enhancement opportunities to improve the learning environment for the children. We require a Caretaker who is:

Working pattern and terms
We are looking for someone who is able to work all year round, 20 hours per week. The school opens at 7am and is locked by 6.15pm. Ideally, we are looking for someone who may be extremely flexible and willing to work on an alternative weekly pattern of 7am-11am and 2.15pm-6.15pm, working in partnership with our full time caretaker. It is possible that this working pattern may be reviewed in the future in line with the needs of the school, however, the working arrangements are open to negotiation as it is more important to us to recruit the person most suited to the role. Some degree of flexibility in working hours will be required during school holidays and to provide cover to unlock or lock the school if a member of the site team is absent. Whilst we anticipate that this will only ever be occasional during term time, it is essential that the successful candidate is prepared to work flexibly as necessary. The position of part time caretaker attracts an hourly-rate of Β£13.47 (before deductions).

About Air Balloon Hill Primary School
Air Balloon Hill Primary School is a large inner city school with the capacity for 840 children to learn in buildings built in 1905 and 2013. We are looking to employ a part time Caretaker to join our Site Team in caring for the school site to preserve the character of the Edwardian era while embracing the exciting education opportunities afforded by our newer building which houses twelve modern classrooms and learning areas. Our school field with changing rooms, together with several playgrounds, outside areas and a large ball court, provide plenty of outdoor space for the children to enjoy.
