How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

  • Drive company LGV vehicle over established routes or within an established territory to ensure the efficient and safe delivery and handling of company cylinders/cylinder packs, which may include other duties as defined by local Facility Manager/ Production & Distribution Manager / Supervisor.
  • Abide by the current Safety, Health and Environment policy giving priority to the safety of staff, customers and members of the public at all times.
  • Be responsible for load security at all times.
  • Must abide by the Company’s 12 Life Saving Rules.
  • Be responsible for effecting an efficient and satisfactory multi-drop delivery service to customers of the Company.
  • Be responsible for operating the company’s ISO 9000 Quality Assurance System to the satisfaction of the Department and Quality Manager in so far as they apply to his duties.
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required as defined by the company policy.
  • Ensure that the vehicles under control are kept secure at all times.
  • Ensure that all Company policies that apply to his/her position are carried out in a business-like and efficient manner and to ensure that any necessary paperwork is completed on a daily basis (Advice Notes, Load Sheets, Tachograph charts, Fuel Mileage and daily check sheets).
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of any vehicle, which may be allocated and to carry out daily Company and Statutory checks that may be required.
  • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order (in line with ADR).
  • Comply with traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures under ADR.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment (e.g. Manitou/FLT) are properly positioned.
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Maintain logs of working hours following applicable regulations in relation to Driver Hours (WTD) / Digital Tachographs.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, incidents and traffic violations, or any damage to the vehicles or customers/public property.
  • Willingly participate in suitable training provided by the Company which will include manual handling training of cylinders and packaged gases.
  • The above duties may involve having access to information of a confidential nature. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Minimum LGV C (HGV 2).
  • Full, Clean Driving Licence.
  • Driver’s CPC Card.
  • ADR with Core and Packages and UN Class 2.
  • FLT Licence an advantage.
  • Experience of Multi-Drop Deliveries and knowledge of Local/Regional Areas.
  • Good standard of Health and Fitness.
  • Willingness to undergo Company Medical if required.
  • Disclosure of any unspent conviction.
  • Any first Aid or Health & Safety Qualification is an advantage.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Flexible approach to overtime with a “Can Do” attitude.
  • Intuitive and effective communicator.
  • Demonstrates energy enthusiasm and a passionate commitment within the role and wider business.
  • Demonstrate active listening and questioning techniques.
  • Self Motivated, effective time manager with excellent organisational skills.
