How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Air Liquide is searching for a proactive, detail-oriented Inventory Controller to join our team in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels at our Speciality Gas facility. The core mission is to balance demand with cost-efficiency by ensuring record accuracy and preventing both overstocking and shortages.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of stock level accuracy by managing cycle counts, full stocktakes, and reconciliations.
  • Being accountable for audit results and minimizing variances between physical stock and system records.
  • Optimizing storage areas and ensuring efficient material flow to sales and warehouse teams.
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve inventory discrepancies and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Utilize inventory management software and spreadsheets to monitor order progress, develop forecasting models, and proactively address potential shortages or overstocking.
  • Collaborate internally to continuously refine supply chain and inventory processes.

Are you a MATCH? The ideal candidate brings proven experience in inventory or stock management, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers. We also look for:

  • A strong understanding of inventory control methods such as cycle counting, stock reconciliation and demand forecasting.
  • A strong attention to detail and a capacity to resolve discrepancies with corrective actions.
  • The ability to analyse inventory trends via Excel/Google Sheets and utilise management software for accurate reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including warehouse and sales.
  • Basic comprehension of supply chain processes and their impact on inventory management.
  • Flexibility with respect to shifts and overtime, with a customer focused approach in order to meet demand.
