How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Air Liquide is currently searching for a Master Driver to join the team and to drive excellence, lead safety initiatives, and help shape the future of our transport operations. Main responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the training needs of our driver teams.
  • Ensuring the effectiveness of our associated driver trainer resources (DTI’s) by validating technical and coaching competencies.
  • Supporting the operations team throughout the driver interview process and onboarding.
  • Scheduling, tracking & performing formal on-the-job observations and assessments as well as BVS’s to monitor performance.
  • Oversight and development of the driver qualification process, particularly coaching drivers through on-the-job assessments and using data retrieved from the vehicle onboard technology (IVMS, tachograph, fatigue & distraction systems) to quantify, analyse and monitor performance.
  • Providing regular feedback via multiple streams to key stakeholders in the operation.
  • Development, implementation & control of safety plans linked to organisational objectives.
  • Contributing, leading and validating formal investigations to determine improvements and corrective actions.
  • Assisting with assessing customer delivery points, identifying issues and working with the teams to implement solutions.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Previous experience as a driver trainer/instructor is essential.
  • ADI qualification desired but not essential.
  • HGV Licence with no points or convictions within the past 5 years.
  • Clean driving licence free from RSE, endorsements, etc for past five years.
  • Able to demonstrate good safety performance & compliance with regulations.
  • Ability to gain the respect of drivers & Road Transport stakeholders.
  • Previous experience developing training plans as part of C-IPM for driver teams.
  • Competency in development of risk assessment and SOP’s.
  • Experience in incident investigations and root cause analysis techniques.
  • General communication & group presentation skills.
  • Recognise & appreciate individual abilities & adjust their approach accordingly.
  • Empower driver teams through positive feedback & coaching.
  • Proven motivator & leader.
  • Eagerness to learn quickly & share knowledge / know-how with enthusiasm.
