How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?


This role is primarily responsible for the effective coordination of business operations, ensuring the timely production and distribution of packaged gas to both internal and external customers.
Through taking ownership of a busy filling plant and multi-faceted transport operation (supplemented by a trade counter and dedicated site based customer collections), the Facility Manager is expected to actively promote a safety focused, continuous improvement culture; leading teams to deliver strong performance in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.

  • Manage the operational Scheduling, Supply Chain, Materials and Shipping team to deliver business and customer expectations, driving forward continuous improvement.

  • Oversee and mentor the Production & Distribution supervisors to ensure a high level of proficiency and development.

  • Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications. Identify and manage bottlenecks and capacity issues with the Production Management team, coordinate internally and externally the resolution of the issues. Evaluate current production processes and recommend improvements.

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Assist in new product development and enhancements.

  • Create weekly/monthly reports and KPIs.

  • Determine equipment, materials and manpower required to complete production.

  • Plan workflow and schedules for production departments. Assist in employee hiring, training, performance evaluation, retention, and termination activities. Ensure the relevant training and qualification is implemented and up to date.

  • Due to the demands within the wider business there will be requirements to work outside of normal working hours.

  • Delegated authority of the Regional and IPG Operations managers

  • Proven leadership ability with demonstrable experience in production and operations management

  • HGV transport management/ route planning experience

  • Project management experience

  • Strong practical understanding of stock and inventory control

  • Continuous improvement experience

  • Excellent organisational and task management ability

  • Exceptional communicator across all levels

  • IT proficient
