At Air IT Group, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Professional Services Engineer to join our talented Professional Services team. This is a hands‑on senior technical role where you’ll take ownership of complex infrastructure and cloud projects from planning through to successful delivery.
Working closely with our Project Management Office (PMO) and Technical Pre‑Sales/Solutions Architecture teams, you’ll help turn technical designs into robust, secure and scalable solutions. You’ll also be a senior technical voice within the team, sharing your expertise, supporting colleagues and helping us maintain consistently high standards across every project we deliver.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the technical delivery of complex IT migration, transformation and infrastructure refresh projects for SME customers.
- Take ownership of projects from technical planning and implementation through to handover and completion.
- Deploy and migrate Microsoft 365 environments, including Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access and Exchange Online.
- Design, deploy and manage Microsoft Azure IaaS, including compute, networking and storage.
- Deliver server, network, firewall and virtualisation solutions across cloud, hybrid and on‑premises environments.
- Lead complex system migrations and infrastructure overhauls, working independently or as part of a wider project team.
- Work closely with our PMO to plan, schedule and successfully deliver customer projects.
- Collaborate with Technical Pre‑Sales and Solutions Architecture colleagues to review designs and develop effective implementation plans.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to other engineers.
- Identify technical risks and challenges during delivery and work collaboratively to find the right solution.
- Ensure completed projects are handed over smoothly to our Service Desk.
- Maintain accurate project records, technical documentation, knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll already have a strong track record of successfully delivering IT infrastructure and cloud projects, with the confidence to take ownership of complex technical environments. Ideally, your experience will include:
- Microsoft Azure IaaS, including compute, networking and storage.
- Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory Domain Services.
- Microsoft Intune, including MDM, MAM and Conditional Access.
- Microsoft Hyper‑V and VMware virtualisation.
- Microsoft Windows Server, with experience across ADDS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, NPS and DFS.
- Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online, including migration projects.
- Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online deployment and migration.
- Network infrastructure including Sophos, SonicWall, Ubiquiti UniFi and HP Aruba.
- Network topologies ranging from single LAN environments through to complex multi‑VLAN solutions.
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery technologies, including Datto, Veeam, StorageCraft and Altaro.
- Large‑scale deployment of laptops, desktops, thin clients and mobile devices across Microsoft, Apple and Android platforms.
- Exposure to technologies such as SAN storage, Mimecast, Cisco Meraki, EDR solutions, secure access control and managed print.
- Significant experience delivering complex migrations across cloud, hybrid and on‑premises environments from start to finish.
Just as importantly, you’ll bring excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and build confidence with customers and colleagues alike. A full UK driving licence is required, as the role will involve travel to customer sites for project delivery.
