The Landscape Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance, health, and safety of outdoor landscapes at residential and commercial properties. This role supports daily maintenance operations by performing tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, seasonal cleanups, and assisting with landscape improvements as needed. Technicians work as part of a team to deliver high-quality results, follow safety procedures, and ensure job sites are left clean and presentable. This is a hands-on, outdoor position that requires reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and debris clean-up for residential and commercial properties.
- Assist with spring & fall cleanups, including mulching, bed edging, pruning, and leaf removal.
- Operate landscaping equipment such as zero-turn mowers, string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and backpack sprayers.
- Load/unload trucks and trailers and help maintain an organized, safe jobsite daily.
- Install landscape materials including mulch, stone, plants, and sod while following design and quality standards.
- Follow safety procedures and use proper PPE while working with tools, equipment, and outdoor conditions.
- Work efficiently as part of a crew to complete routes on schedule while maintaining high-quality results.
- Assist with minor maintenance on equipment (greasing, blade checks, cleaning tools, fueling) to keep machines running smoothly.
- Complete work in varying weather conditions and maintain a strong attendance record.
- Support snow operations including shoveling, salting, plowing assistance, and storm response work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in landscape maintenance work.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Understand proper equipment and tools safety.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Bilingual candidates are a plus!
