The Stock Clerk is a key member of the Maintenance department. The person who holds this position will report to the Head of Logistics – Maintenance (based in Germany). They will be responsible for the maintenance of tools and aeronautical parts in support of Operations at London Heathrow Airport and Air Canada's network in Europe and worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Handle daily audits, shipping, receiving, inspection, distribution, processing of out-of-service material, stocking, and updating of the enterprise resource planning system accordingly.
- Prepare and ship parts orders to remote bases.
- Coordinate the delivery of grounded aircraft, including customs clearance of parts after hours, if applicable.
- Write reports concerning actions taken, among other things, for expired material, return of parts and tools, or wheel rotation.
- Understand customs regulations and prepare shipping documents.
- Handle dangerous goods shipped by air.
- Monitor and maintain stock at the correct level in addition to consulting Supply Chain in Canada for any requirements.
- Have good knowledge of dangerous goods and hold a qualified dangerous goods shipper’s qualification in accordance with current International Air Transport Association dangerous goods transport regulations, the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, and other relevant decision-making bodies.
- Classify, locate, pack, indicate, label, and document dangerous goods (after successfully passing Air Canada’s “Dangerous Goods for Shippers” exam).
- Ensure compliance with Air Canada’s directives and policies at all times, while working safely.
- Lift heavy loads.
- Take initiatives while managing workload and priorities.
- Ensure maintenance standards are met in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
- Monitor temperature and humidity in storage areas.
- Pick up aircraft parts from Freight or other brokers and deliver them – on or off airport grounds.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid UK manual driving license mandatory
- Forklift license, an asset
- High school diploma or equivalent training
- At least two years of warehouse experience
- Right to work in the United Kingdom without any restrictions
- Training or experience in inventory management and purchasing, an asset
- Ability to travel without restriction in the United Kingdom or abroad to support activities related to grounded aircraft
- Knowledge of common equipment essential and knowledge of aircraft parts preferable
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with other departments, staff, and managers
- Ability to work under pressure, plan workload, and meet deadlines with minimum supervision
- Team spirit and ability to represent Air Canada professionally
- Willingness to wear the company uniform as prescribed, respecting established dress code standards
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment in high-risk areas
- Shift work with an emphasis on adaptability to operational requirements, including, if necessary, those concerning grounded aircraft
- Proficiency in English, a requirement, and French, an asset.
