This role is responsible for overseeing and executing all operational procedures related to import and export cargo, including cargo acceptance activities. It requires close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, such as the Customer Service Unit, Cargo Reservations, headquarters teams, warehouse personnel, and external partners. Additionally, the position ensures strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for Air Canada customers, covering both inbound and outbound cargo movements.

Responsibilities

  • Accept, assign, and process all aspects of cargo for inbound and outbound flights.
  • Adhere to acceptance procedures and ensure full compliance with CAA and Border Force regulatory requirements.
  • Process hazardous, valuable, live, and perishable shipments for inbound and outbound flights.
  • Process all relevant paperwork for inbound and outbound flights, including specialist products.
  • Receive and answer queries from customers, warehouse personnel, Load Planning Department, Border Force, etc., as required.
  • Process rack & bond checks and process bad order reports.
  • Process customs failures, check weight shipments, and address missing cargo as required.
  • Ensure status processing of inbound and outbound cargo complies with agreed SLAs.
  • Ensure cargo iQ milestones are achieved wherever possible.
  • Liaise with transport companies to book and transport UK / EU destined cargo.
  • Liaise with LHR Cargo Reservations for direction with priority allotments and bookings.
  • Maintain British Airport Authority airside ID pass as required.
  • Ensure compliance with ACU online training.

Qualifications

  • Previous cargo experience is an advantage.
  • Experience with Cargo Management Systems (CMS), flight planning, ABS, and NCTS is considered an asset.
  • CAA / DFT security trained.

Conditions Of Employment

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations necessary for employment. Prior to their start date, candidates will also need to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the country of interest.

Linguistic Requirements

Good verbal and written skills, with a high level of accuracy in English.
