Our charity headquarters and forward operating base are located at Rochester Airport, with our aircraft hangar and maintained at Redhill Aerodrome. When the call comes, we can reach any part of Kent, Surrey or Sussex in under 30 minutes.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Community Fundraising Apprentice is a fundamental role in supporting the Community Fundraising Team and wider Income Generation Team in the successful engagement of supporters, as well as helping KSS be more visible within the community. The role consists of a variety of key tasks, primarily focusing on administrative support to the Community Fundraising Team, specifically on our attendance at events within our area. The role will also have input into various other fundraising activities that help maximise income and increase awareness of KSS.
The post-holder will demonstrate a wide range of administrative skills including good written and verbal communication and will be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with a diverse range of individuals including our volunteers. Being organised, adaptable and able to juggle multiple priorities to meet deadlines is also key. Although the individual will need to work independently at times, the post-holder should also be flexible, supportive, and able to work collaboratively within a very busy team.
Candidates must have GCSE Maths & English Level 2 plusDue to the nature of the role it is desirable that applicants hold a full UK driving licence.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Arranging and facilitating our attendance at community events, organising volunteer attendance, logistics and ensuring events are fully resourced.
• General communication to supporters – responding to all communications in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that our database is updated without delay and that relevant stakeholders are informed as required
• Supporting Fundraising campaigns by making onboarding telephone calls and sending relevant resources or packs
• Arranging and facilitating our store collections and looking at volunteer support to maximise these opportunities
• Supporting our Community Fundraisers with presentations and assemblies to engage new or existing schools or groups
• Assisting with thanking process for fundraising supporters
• Act as a key liaison within the Community Team, ensuring that Community Fundraisers and Community Fundraising Manager are supported as required
• Propose opportunities for KSS to increase our presence, grow our brand awareness and income, in line with KSS strategy.
• Work with other members of the Income Generation team to support their activities to drive income and acquire new supporters such as Trusts and Foundations, Corporate and Individual Giving appeals.
OTHER GENERAL DUTIES:
1. When working at our office:
• Welcome visitors and assist them in the appropriate manner
• Observe and adhere to office procedures
• Respect confidentiality of all information obtained whilst working for the charity
2. To contribute to the functioning and morale of the team, whilst conducting yourself in a professional and efficient manner
3. Be an organisational representative across various forums and networking opportunities Other duties as may be required from time to time on behalf of the charity
