Responsibilities

  • Define and implement technical strategies and methodologies across the organization.
  • Display a customer focused approach by demonstrating clear and competent communication, issue resolution & delivery to expectations and sharing this approach with the team.
  • Promote innovation through scalable, standardized engineering processes and tools.
  • Identify best practice by networking widely and extensively with EDA and IP companies and their users in other companies as applicable to our ASIC projects.
  • Ensure suitable design methodologies and flows are available, clearly documented and with suitable training provided for all project phases.
  • Where required define R&D work packages for execution in R&D team.
  • Collate feedback from Project Leads, Technical Leads and regional experts to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with external partners to integrate cutting-edge methodologies and IPs.
  • Contribute to technical white papers and present at internal and external conferences and will contribute to sales support as part of a team.
  • Provide expert consultation and governance across customer projects.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, supporting peer reviews and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Ensure alignment between project execution and overarching technical strategy.

Qualifications

  • A creative thinker, able to consolidate ideas from multiple sources into a relevant solution.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in your technical discipline, providing deep expertise and hands‐on support across projects.
  • Confidently present complex technical concepts to both customers and internal stakeholders in a clear, compelling manner.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, bridging the gap between technical teams and non‐technical audiences.
  • Able to effectively work with and listen to external suppliers, to absorb knowledge and apply to ASIC projects.
  • Ability to implement the adoption of new tools and processes.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation in English, and to serve as an editor for reviewing and refining the work of others.

Technical Skills

  • Typically, 10+ years' experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • A technical guru in the field of RTL design and associated front‐end methodologies.
  • Understanding of RTL optimization and 'shift‐left' concepts.
  • Experience of all design‐check tool types including:
  • Deep awareness of data integrity, including database management, SCM tools and audit trails.
  • Proven capability as a problem solver with an ability to coach and train engineers.
  • Rolling out and maintaining clear technical documentation and training materials.
  • Working with EDA tool vendors to choose and maintain a contemporary set of installations and coordinate higher‐level vendor support.
  • Presentation of complex technical concepts to internal stakeholders and industrial partners in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Algorithmic approaches to design automation/quality improvement, including AI tools.
  • Functional Safety Requirements Management QMS concepts and integration with technical project methodology.
