AION Auto UK – Parts Manager

Location: Slough with hybrid working / regional travel required

Reports to: Aftersales Director

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Parts Manager to lead our spare parts operations.

The successful candidate will be from an OEM or Distribution background, and will be responsible for working with our subcontracted parts warehouse supplier, developing and implementing efficient inventory management systems, and ensuring the timely and accurate supply of genuine parts to our dealer network.

This role sits at the heart of an exciting new venture between Jameel Motors and GAC, established to introduce the AION range of intelligent electric vehicles to the UK market.

As part of the launch team, you will help establish and grow AION Auto UK combining GAC’s cutting‑edge EV innovation with Jameel Motors’ deep automotive expertise to deliver a new benchmark in electric mobility.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the brand’s presence from the ground up — contributing to strategy, execution, and the creation of a customer experience that reflects the innovation, intelligence, and ambition behind AION.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Setup and Management: To manage the day‑to‑day relationship with our appointed 3rd party warehouse supplier to ensure an efficient and effective warehouse operation that delivers the required first pick availability within budget.
  • Inventory Planning and Control: Develop product ordering and inventory strategies, manage control procedures, manage supplier relationships, and monitor KPIs (stock turn, fill rate, etc.).
  • Parts IT Systems: Utilising a number of different warehouse and stock ordering and management systems, optimise their use, and provide data analysis and reporting.
  • Dealer Support and Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for dealers, manage order processing, provide technical support, and build strong relationships.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, and manage the parts team, set expectations, and provide development opportunities.
  • Budget Management and Cost Control: Develop and manage the parts department budget, control expenses, and provide financial reports.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience of spare parts management experience in the automotive industry.
  • Expertise in parts management IT systems (DMS, WMS).
  • Ideally experience gained working with a new vehicle brand entrant to the UK market.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle parts and warehouse management.
  • Understanding of part number systems, data management, and electronic parts catalogues.
  • Proficiency in inventory planning and forecasting.
