Working hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
We are looking for a highly skilled Pricing Professional to join our team. The primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain the optimisation strategy for our UK motor book, contributing to the company achieving its sales and loss ratio targets. You will support the Head of Pricing in delivering the agreed pricing strategy while seeking opportunities and working with the business to help achieve strategic objectives through analytical excellence. Developing new ideas to analyse data and be proactive with risk management.
Responsibilities:
- Effective monitoring of the following KPI’s to help aid the Business into making informed decisions.
- Develop and maintain optimisation procedures.
- Analyse data and identify trends to inform pricing decisions.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pricing models.
- Collaborate with underwriters and other stakeholders to ensure pricing aligns with risk appetite and profitability goals.
- Provide technical pricing expertise to support business decisions.
- Conduct competitor analysis and benchmarking to inform pricing strategy.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to pricing.
Work directly with the Head of Pricing and other key stakeholders. These include carrying out pricing analysis, making recommendations to UPCs, monitoring and updating UPCs with portfolio performances, and assisting with the governance of the Rating Structure.
Keep up-to-date with current industry thinking, making recommendations on emerging technologies and new approaches to pricing and capturing and measuring the voice of the customer and improving customer experience and lifetime value.
Represent the interests of Pricing in relevant business forums and projects, ensuring pricing needs are recognised and met.
Assist with the development of Pricing team members.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Educated to degree level, preferably in scientific or numerical subject.
- Mathematics or other numerical A-level or equivalent, B grade or above.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pricing personal lines motor insurance.
- Highly numerate individual.
- Logical thinker able to structure problems in the context of the business and translate these into actions to improve results.
- Ability to review the work of others for quality, accuracy and reasonableness.
- Ability to select & use the most appropriate analysis techniques for the business problem in hand, delivering optimal, robust pricing decisions in a timely manner.
Desirable:
- Part or Fully Qualified Actuary.
