As a plant & fleet fitter, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and safety of our specialist plant and fleet. Based at our Wigan workshop, you will work within a skilled team responsible for servicing and repairing a wide range of equipment, including cranes, lifting systems, HGV's, and associated plant. This is a practical, hands-on role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work on specialist equipment that supports projects across the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair specialist equipment including mobile cranes, heavy forklifts, hydraulic gantry systems and lifting gear.
  • Carry out maintenance on HGV's, trailers, generators, lighting towers, and small plant.
  • Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Support breakdown response across the UK when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting heavy plant equipment.
  • Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in a mechanical or engineering discipline.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with a focus on getting the job done properly.
  • A positive, team-focused attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to use large workshop equipment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and motivated with 'can-do' attitude.
  • Organised, safety-conscious, and committed to quality.
  • Full UK Driving License.
