The Role
As a Slinger / Signaller, you will play a vital role in ensuring lifting operations are completed safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include:
- Attaching and detaching loads safely
- Working in line with manufacturer instructions and site procedures
- Establishing load weights, centre of gravity and load balance
- Selecting appropriate lifting accessories and checking equipment condition
- Directing crane movements using approved signalling methods
- Liaising with site contacts and project teams upon arrival
- Identifying and challenging unsafe practices when necessary
- Monitoring environmental factors such as wind and weather conditions
- Taking action to prevent dangerous situations, including stopping operations where required
- Operating fire suppressant equipment where fitted
What We’re Looking For
- Valid CPCS A40 Slinger / Signaller Blue Card
- Previous experience in a Slinger / Signaller role
- Strong communication skills
- A safety-first mindset
- Confidence to make decisions and challenge unsafe behaviours when required
