The Role
As an Apprentice Crane Mechanic, you will work closely with our Maintenance Supervisor and Crane Technicians. Your responsibilities will include assisting with servicing, repairs, and breakdown maintenance of cranes, ensuring they meet our stringent service levels and safety standards.
Training and Development
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will attend classes at Myerscough College in Preston, adhering to CITB Construction Skills apprenticeship policies. This includes residential blocks at the college for intensive learning periods. Over the course of the program, you will achieve NVQ qualifications in Plant Maintenance, progressing from Level 1 to Level 3, and complete a fourth year as development.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preventative maintenance and servicing of cranes.
Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and materials.
Support with vehicle security and workshop cleanliness.
Learn to program service schedules for our depot fleet.
Record plant labour and materials usage daily.
Aid in planning and procuring necessary materials.
Conduct servicing and repairs under workshop supervision.
Keep detailed service records for each crane.
Provide technical advice to minimize downtime.
Uphold health and safety standards rigorously.
