Our client is a Financial Services organisation who are looking for a Senior Application & Data Engineer to join their internal technology team. You will be supporting the design, delivery, and ongoing management of business-critical applications and reporting solutions across Microsoft Azure and the Power Platform ecosystem. The role is Hybrid and you will be required onsite in Central London 2/3 days per week.
This role will focus on delivering end-to-end technical change across applications, data platforms, reporting, and automation solutions covering requirements gathering, architecture, development, deployment, and production support.
Key Responsibilities- Review new business change requests and assess technical impact across systems, processes, data, and operating models.
- Work with stakeholders and SMEs to gather requirements and produce clear technical documentation including HLDs and LLDs.
- Design and deliver scalable application, reporting, and automation solutions across Azure and Power Platform.
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, governance, and performance standards.
- Support the full development lifecycle including testing, deployment, version control, and documentation.
- Manage production services, incident resolution, and continuous service improvements.
- Collaborate with project managers, analysts, suppliers, and senior stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
- Provide technical leadership across application, reporting, and data services.
- Follow ITIL processes for incidents, changes, and problem management.
- Strong background within Financial Services, Investment Management, or similar regulated environments.
- Proven experience delivering modern application and reporting solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, App Services, Power BI, Power Platform, and data integration.
- Experience with low-code and pro-code development across enterprise systems.
- Understanding of AI integrations including LLM services and API-driven automation.
- Experience using Azure DevOps for CI/CD, repositories, and deployment pipelines.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Power BI).
- Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular or React.
- ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, REST APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI.
- SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, vector databases.
- FastAPI and AI service integrations (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini).
- Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Azure App Services.
- Azure DevOps, Azure Boards, CI/CD pipelines.
- API Management, OAuth2, JWT, audit logging.
- Unit testing across .NET and Python environments.
- Azure certifications such as AZ-900 and AI-900 would be highly beneficial.
