We are partnering with a growing technology consultancy to appoint a senior technical leader for its CRM practice. This is a pivotal role for someone who enjoys combining hands-on technical credibility with the opportunity to shape a high-performing delivery capability. You will lead the technical direction of the practice, develop its people and standards, and play an active role in ensuring client work is well designed, commercially sound and consistently delivered.
You will be trusted to bring structure and leadership across a portfolio of CRM transformation, implementation and integration programmes. Working closely with delivery, commercial and client-facing colleagues, you will help ensure the business has the right capability, capacity and technical approach to support continued growth. You will take ownership of the technical health of the CRM practice, acting as its senior point of escalation across active client engagements. This will include setting the benchmark for solution quality, delivery assurance, estimation and technical governance.
A key part of the role will be leading a distributed team of technical specialists across UK-based and offshore delivery. You will bring the team together around clear priorities, standards and development plans, while maintaining a practical view of workload, utilisation and future hiring requirements. You will also have a visible role at the front end of engagements. This includes supporting discovery conversations, technical workshops, solution design, estimates and proposals—helping clients understand what is achievable and ensuring work enters delivery with the right scope and assumptions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a technical CRM team spanning onshore and offshore resources.
- Set and maintain robust technical standards, delivery methods and quality controls across projects.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex implementation, integration and solution-design challenges.
- Shape resource and capacity planning across live work and anticipated pipeline.
- Work alongside sales, business analysis and account management teams to support technical scoping, effort estimation and risk assessment.
- Lead technical client workshops and communicate complex solutions clearly to senior business and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure delivery teams follow strong commercial and project disciplines, protecting quality, scope and margin.
- Develop a clear certification, skills and capability roadmap for the practice.
- Keep abreast of relevant platform developments, integration approaches and wider cloud technologies, translating these into practical improvements for clients and delivery teams.
- Build productive relationships with software vendors, partners and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continued growth, reputation and commercial performance of the practice.
What we are looking for
- Significant experience delivering CRM, customer-platform or enterprise application solutions across multiple client environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of CRM implementation, integration, APIs, data flows and solution architecture.
- Experience leading, mentoring or managing technical consultants, developers, architects or implementation specialists.
- A track record of working with offshore or nearshore teams and creating one joined-up delivery function.
- Confidence supporting pre-sales activity, including technical discovery, solution shaping, proposals, estimates and delivery assumptions.
- Experience of working within a consultancy, systems integrator, software partner or professional-services environment.
- A commercially aware approach, with the judgement to balance client requirements, delivery quality and project profitability.
- Familiarity with the wider Microsoft, .NET, Azure, AWS or comparable cloud and integration ecosystem.
- The ability to build credibility quickly with both clients and technical teams.
- A practical leadership style: comfortable setting direction, improving ways of working and getting into the detail where needed.
This role would suit an established Practice Lead, Head of Delivery, Technical Lead, Solution Architect or senior professional services leader looking to take ownership of a growing CRM capability.
