What difference will you make? We are looking for trustees who share the commitment of AIMS to improve maternity services for all in the UK and have a passion for helping us make change happen. You will help oversee the development of AIMS as we work to make a positive difference for women across the UK.
What are we looking for? We are currently looking to add skills and expertise around digital strategy and fundraising to our board. We value diversity and recognise that good leadership benefits from the diversity of lived experience. We warmly encourage expressions of interest from Global Majority members, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, and neurodivergent people. If you have lived experience in the above areas or digital strategy or fundraising experience we would particularly like to hear from you.
What will you be doing? You don’t need to already work in the “birth world”, but you do need to be able to demonstrate a commitment to the AIMS mission and ethos. You will join a board of seven existing trustees as we develop the next phase of AIMS' activity across Birth Information, Campaigning, Helpline, Journal, Fundraising and other teams. In particular, we would like to hear from people with an interest in digital strategy or fundraising, or who would be willing to take on a facilitation role for the Board.
The AIMS Constitution states that an AIMS trustee may not be “a qualified member of any medical profession including doctor, midwife, nurse or health visitor”.
