Role Description
This is a full‑time, role based in Wigston. The Joiner will interpret technical drawings and specifications to manufacture, assemble, and install bespoke joinery items. Day‑to‑day tasks include measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting timber components, carrying out framing and finish work, and operating a range of hand and power tools safely and accurately. The role involves working on high‑quality joinery for retail, hospitality, and residential projects, ensuring a high standard of craftsmanship and finish. The Joiner will collaborate with colleagues in the workshop and on‑site, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and follow all relevant health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong Carpentry skills with experience in bespoke or high‑end joinery work.
- Proficient use of Hand Tools (e.g., chisels, planes, saws) for accurate measuring, cutting, and fitting.
- Capable use of Power Tools (e.g., drills, sanders, saws) with a strong focus on safety and precision.
- Experience in Framing and structural preparation for joinery installations.
- Proven Finish Carpentry skills, including detailed trimming, fitting, and fine finishing.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving abilities, and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
- Relevant joinery or carpentry qualification or apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with workshop health and safety standards and safe manual handling practices.
