Overview
Plant Supervisor – Readymix Concrete in Bridgwater. Hopkins is part of the Tarmac business, and we are looking for a Plant Supervisor to join our team in Bridgwater.
About the Role
Reporting into the Production Manager, the successful Plant Supervisor will be responsible for managing and being accountable for the Readymix Concrete operation at our best-in-class plant. You will ensure our safety and operational standards are of the highest standard, supervise the site team, ensuring that we deliver to our customers as required. Managing plant compliance with business policies and procedures and ensuring that legislative compliance also form a strong aspect of the role.
What You\\\’ll Be Doing
In this role, the successful Plant Supervisor will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
- Leading and actively supervising the operational team
- Managing all aspects of daily production including operational costs and stock control
- Working on the efficient manufacture of concrete and controlling standard deviation and cement contents
- Improving operational performance through KPIs
- Taking responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
- Maintaining site housekeeping to a high standard
- Batching concrete to meet customer needs whilst meeting internal quality requirements
We Are Looking For a Plant Supervisor Who Is
- Experienced in plant operations (ideally concrete manufacturing)
- Safety conscious and ideally also has experience of risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Knowledgeable of production processes and H&S and Environmental policies
It Would Be Advantageous If You Also Have
- An IOSH Managing Safely qualification
- A NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations
