Overview
We are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our team at Tarmac Stowfield Quarry and Asphalt Plant, Coleford in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. This role is accessible from surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Work with other team members to ensure customers receive good quality material and on-time deliveries
- Operate heavy mobile plant, including excavators, dump trucks and front end loaders
- Assist the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
- Ensure the Plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
- Fulfil Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
- Follow Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
- Inspect the Plant, address defects and implement remedial action
- Assist in the maintenance regime of the Plant
- Maximise Plant availability
- Maintain high housekeeping standards around site
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will have proven experience in an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as an operative or labourer. Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to develop both operative and supervisory capabilities are beneficial.
To succeed in the role, we would expect a candidate to evidence:
- Knowledge of Plant and ideally prior experience in quarry or mobile Plant (loading shovel, excavator, quarry trucks)
- Shovel licence desirable
- Flexible and able to work effectively as part of a Multi-Skilled Operative team
- Self-motivated with the ability to motivate colleagues
- Good timekeeping and flexibility to meet unit requirements
- Good communication skills and ability to raise problems to Line Management
- Full UK driving licence
- IT literate
