We are currently looking for a Mobile Fitter – Maintenance (Silo) at our Stoke Dry Silo plant. The site is easily accessible from Stafford, Burton Upon Trent, Stoke on Trent, Derby, Ashbourne, Leek, Matlock and the surrounding areas. Responsibilities

As the successful Mobile Fitter – Maintenance (Silo), you will report to the Mobile Silo Operations Manager Mortar, and will be responsible for fault finding within control panels on Mobile Silos and to be fully conversant with understanding of inverters and parameters and level indicators. The role requires travel to various sites; a company van will be provided. There may be occasions to stay away from home in line with business needs, however expenses will be covered in line with company policy.

On a day to day basis, duties and responsibilities of the Mobile Fitter – Maintenance (Silo) will include (not exhaustive):

  • PAT Testing portable appliances in addition to demonstrating competences in fault diagnosis
  • Reducing breakdowns and carrying out planned preventative maintenance visits whilst maintaining stock levels
  • Ensuring all work is carried out as required and documented in line with company Health and Safety policies
  • Ensuring plant equipment is maintained to high standard and in a timely manner
  • Providing a structured approach to fault finding and planned maintenance
  • Ensuring Mobile Silos are supplied to customers in a safe working condition
  • Maintaining production to required levels by assisting online and mobile plant when required
  • Maintaining van stock levels
  • Maintaining relationships with internal / external stakeholders
  • Contributing towards a zero incident H&S site
  • Improving site production
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards of company van provided to you, ensuring all speed limits, behaviours and disciplines are in line with company policies and procedures

The Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Mobile Fitter – Maintenance (Silo) Will

  • Hold experience within industrial electrical / mechanical engineering
  • Have some fitting experience, have worked with hand tools with previous training in adopting correct manual handling techniques
  • Currently be working or have experience within the construction industry
  • Be experienced working with gearboxes / motors and pumps understanding LOTOTO (isolation of plant and equipment)
  • Operate all machinery on plant to required set by management
  • Demonstrate time served experience as a fitter
  • Be PC Literate to a reasonable level to compose emails and write reports in WORD whilst understand spreadsheets
  • Hold a minimum Level 1 Welding qualification
  • IEE 17th Edition qualified – desirable but not essential
