The Role

As Assistant Bar Manager, you will support the Bar Manager in the day-to-day operation of the bar, ensuring exceptional service, strong commercial performance, and a welcoming atmosphere for every guest. You will lead by example, inspire the team, and use your beverage knowledge to drive sales and elevate the guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the smooth operation of the bar in the absence of the Bar Manager
  • Work closely with the Bar Manager to achieve business targets, including sales, revenue, and profitability
  • Manage payroll in line with budget and operational requirements
  • Drive beverage sales through product knowledge, upselling, and team engagement
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of beer, wines, and spirits, sharing this with guests and the team
  • Support staff training and ongoing development, particularly around drinks knowledge and service standards
  • Conduct regular 1–1 meetings with supervisors and team members to support performance and development
  • Play an active role in team meetings, contributing ideas and leading by example
  • Motivate, coach, and inspire the bar team to deliver friendly, consistent, and high-quality service
  • Ensure full compliance with Crowne Plaza brand standards and licensing regulations
  • Maintain the highest standards of guest service, creating a warm and welcoming bar environment
  • Ensure consistent service delivery across all shifts and team members

About You

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a supervisory role or higher within a bar or hospitality environment
  • Passionate about great, friendly service and creating memorable guest experiences
  • Strong knowledge of beer, wines, and spirits, with a desire to continually learn and share expertise
  • Commercially minded with a proven ability to drive sales
  • Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills

Working Hours

Shifts will vary and will include daytime, evening, and weekend shifts, offering variety and balance.
