A day in the life of… As Housekeeping Manager, you will lead the housekeeping department and play a key role in the Hotel’s management team. You will ensure consistently high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the hotel. With a proactive and innovative approach to staffing, development, and training, you will inspire your team and oversee operational efficiency to deliver an exceptional guest experience. This role requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the operational needs of the hotel. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that guests have a first class enjoyable and comfortable stay.
What do we need from you? We’re looking for a strong, hands-on leader with a passion for training and a commitment to excellence. In this role, you will:
- Lead and inspire the housekeeping team, bringing at least two years’ experience in a similar leadership role, ideally within a hotel or similar environment.
- Be a driving force for high standards, ensuring immaculate presentation and cleanliness across guest rooms and public areas.
- Champion training and development, coaching your team in cleaning techniques, guest service, and health & safety best practices to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, managing room turnaround, staff rotas, stock levels, and digital housekeeping systems to maintain efficiency and service excellence.
- Take pride in attention to detail, proactively identifying maintenance issues and ensuring all areas meet brand and hygiene standards.
- Manage departmental budgets, monitor costs, and contribute to wider hotel planning and resource management.
- Support recruitment, lead performance reviews, and handle guest feedback or escalated issues professionally and promptly.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies while promoting a positive, accountable team culture.
