A day in the life of… As an Assistant Financial Controller you will prepare monthly management accounts, manage sales ledgers, participate in the hotel forecasting process and hotel budget processes, supporting the forecast of payroll and expenses as well as reviewing and challenging the revenue forecast as appropriate. You will monitor bank transactions as well as attend meetings as required.
What do we need from you? You’ll have a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. A strong understanding of financial analysis, including the ability to analyse financial data and prepare detailed financial reports. Making you able to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to inform decision-making. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly and effectively communicate financial information to internal and external stakeholders. Whilst also able to collaborate with other departments and provide guidance to staff members. You will have strong leadership and management skills, able to lead a team of financial professionals, set financial goals and objectives, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards. You’ll also be comfortable with providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team and the wider head of departments. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial systems, with the ability to create, analyse, and present data effectively to support decision-making and reporting. A proactive and analytical mindset, with a genuine interest in improving processes and supporting the hotel’s operational success. Most importantly, to be successful in this role, you will be passionate about providing an exceptional guest experience and living through our brand standards.
