As a Night Porter you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests, staff, and the hotel at nights. You will also ensure the minimum of 2 security checks at regular intervals with emphasis on security and fire safety. You will help prepare breakfast for 6am daily and liaise with guests and residents in the hotel, dealing with any problems and resolving complaints in a courteous and professional manner. As an integral part of night time operations in the hotel, your role extends beyond the front desk. You will support operations in food and beverage, maintenance and all other areas that will require your first class customer service skills and exemplary teamwork skillset. This role offers development opportunities across all departments. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that guests have a first class enjoyable and comfortable stay.
Responsibilities:
- Welcoming late-arriving guests and assisting with check-ins and check-outs
- Providing excellent customer service throughout the night
- Carrying out regular security checks of the premises
- Setting up conference rooms
- Setting up breakfast areas and preparing public areas for the morning team
- Handling guest requests and resolving issues promptly
- Maintaining cleanliness in reception and communal areas
- Completing night audit procedures where required
- Reporting maintenance or security issues
Qualifications:
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience preferred but not essential
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently during night hours
- Reliable, trustworthy and professional attitude
- Basic computer skills
- Age 18 or above and comfortable with a night-shift working pattern, including commuting to and from the hotel
