Pre-press Supervisor Labels South Suffolk c 35,000 (negotiable on experience)
Aim Search are partnered with a successful family owned label printing company based in Suffolk, they supply a range of self-adhesive labelling solutions to a wide and varied client base. They are have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pre-press Supervisor who will be responsible for managing and supervising the Pre-Press department.
You will maintain smooth operation of procedures and workflow in a timely and accurate manner for the entire department.
About the Pre-press Supervisor role:
– Execution of colour management for digital and flexo.
– Identifying and leading the development and implementation of Prepress workflow process improvements and automation along with promoting the use of Packz.
– Responsible for devising tracking system of daily work orders in correlation with production schedule and on time delivery to both internal and external customers.
– Interacts with other departments.
– Read and accurately interpret production orders and printing specifications to process files.
– Help create KPIs and SOPs and drive continued improvement.
– Prepare layouts according to exact work ticket specifications using the proper systems, processes and software programs.
– Review electronic files that are received from clients, impose/step as needed and send to Domino and Indigo presses.
– Pre-flight PDF files according to printing standards of files to prepare them for print and digital reproduction.
– Interact with customer service and other business leaders regarding the status of jobs and problem-solving scenarios.
– Maintain consistent communications of project details and scheduled job status with other managers and customer service.
– Maintain an updated schedule of jobs for both digital and flexo presses.
– Communicate with customer services regarding any problems, questions, concerns regarding electronic file issues.
– Maintains customer files. Properly names files and moves merged/old files to the correct account folders.
About the successful Pre-Press Supervisor:
– Knowledge and understanding of printing theory, including impositions/stepping, trapping, resolution, material characteristics, file manipulation, colour control, printer registration marks, and ID marks for all press ready files.
– Strong Colour knowledge.
– Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, imposition software, Packz and Esko.
– Good understanding of HP Indigo DFE is advantageous
