Dacorum Heritage is seeking an experienced Communications and Marketing Consultant to create a practical Marketing and Communications Plan that supports day-to-day services, strengthens digital media activity and helps us communicate confidently about the future.
Fee: £3,000, inclusive of VAT where applicable and all associated costs. This is an all-inclusive fixed fee for the agreed scope of work.
The project involves creating a Marketing and Communications Plan for Dacorum Heritage. The plan should be practical, proportionate and designed for use by a small, part-time museum team. The work will help us:
- review our current communications, audiences, channels and capacity;
- set out clear priorities for day-to-day marketing and communications activity;
- strengthen our approach to digital media, including website content, email newsletters and social media;
- develop messaging that supports Dacorum Heritage’s future plans, partnerships and public profile.
What Dacorum Heritage will provide:
- background information about our organisation, audiences, services and current communications activity;
- access to relevant digital channels, statistics and existing marketing materials where available;
- time with staff and trustees to understand priorities, capacity and future ambitions;
- support from our part-time museum team throughout the project.
We are looking for someone who brings:
- experience of marketing, communications or audience development, ideally in heritage, culture, charity or community settings;
- confidence developing practical communications plans for small organisations with limited capacity;
- strong understanding of digital media, including social media, website content, email communications and analytics;
- the ability to turn organisational aims into clear messages for different audiences;
- flexibility, initiative and enthusiasm for local heritage and community engagement.
Timeline:
- September 2026: appointment of freelance consultant
- October to November 2026: research, consultation and review of current communications activity
- December 2026: draft Marketing and Communications Plan shared for feedback
- January 2027: final plan and practical recommendations completed.
