Job Title: Finance and Operations Manager
Salary: £39682 per annum
Hours: Full time
Terms: Fixed term contract to March 2029
Location: The Isles of Scilly Museum Association
Thanks to National Lottery players, the Isles of Scilly Museum Association is getting ready to open the new Museum and Cultural Centre on St Mary’s – and while the buildingproject is still going on there is a huge amount for our small team to do behind the scenes before we open next summer.
The Museum and Cultural Centre is a transformational project for the Isles of Scilly, creating a new home for our globally significant Museum collection as well a brand new theatre seating 142 people as well as an incredible programme of events and workshops across the islands.
The Finance and Operations Manager will support the Director and wider team in ensuring organisational effectiveness and compliance in financial and operational matters. Our work is supported by multiple public funders and this role is essential to the transition to successfully running the new centre.
This is a senior finance leadership role with significant operational responsibilities, suited to someone who enjoys combining strong financial stewardship with organisational improvement in a mission-driven charity.
This will include but not limited to; budget development and management, annual accounts audit, processing payments, supporting with fundraising, and/or reporting activities.
This role also requires the employee to ensure the effective running of the organisation’s operations including supporting the wider team with IT and software use, managing suppliers, ensuring compliance with procurement, health and safety regulations and GDPR.
This post can be delivered remotely if no islands based candidates are available (with regular visits to the islands). We would welcome applications for job share and are open to splitting this role between two candidates if that is the best way to deliver it.
All new appointments are subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and proof of eligibility to work in the UK. This role will also require an enhanced DBS check.
Fixed term contract to March 2029, this post is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
