Be the technical heartbeat of a fast-moving Fresh Produce site as Site Technical Assistant. Join a fast-paced, high-performing Fresh Produce operation where quality, compliance, and technical excellence are at the centre of everything they do. As a key support to the Site Technical Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining site technical standards and ensuring smooth, compliant operations across all departments.
As Site Technical Assistant, you will act as the primary on-site technical contact, supported by a Technical Manager who is on-site weekly. The structure gives you real ownership of technical compliance, documentation control, quality systems, and site-based activities within a dynamic supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain all technical documentation, including specifications, certificates, traceability records, and supplier information.
- Manage customer complaints and support associated investigations.
- Ensure the QMS / Quality Management System and documentation is accurate and regularly reviewed.
- Assist internal teams by ensuring standards and procedures are clearly communicated and effectively implemented.
- Prepare information required for internal and external audits to BRC standards and support the delivery of audit activities.
- Administer supplier documentation and due diligence, including data verification on technical platforms.
- Conduct internal inspections, including hygiene and good manufacturing practice assessments, and record findings accurately.
- Experience in a food site technical compliance position, with exposure to BRC standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work positively with cross functional teams.
- Able to work accurately to strict deadlines within a time critical environment.
- Confident with documentation management and administrative processes.
- Comfortable working across office, packhouse, and cold store environments.
This position is commutable from Essex, Kent, and Suffolk. This is a UK-based position. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. Evidence of this right will be requested prior to interview, if applicable.
