The Role:
This role sits in the Finance Business Partnering function and will be the expert on product costing, production variances and inventory, providing support to the Production Director and wider operations team. You will business partner non-finance stakeholders at Director level and therefore will need to demonstrate success of driving positive outcomes within a manufacturing/production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Owning the output and providing support and input to the Production Director & Supply Chain Manager, supporting financial decision making to optimise profitability and efficiency.
- Act as the SME on product costing to control the costing process for the annual standard costs, the bill of materials, recipes and costing makeups.
- Understand impacts on product costs for budgeting & forecasting analysis.
- Report the monthly product cost movements & production variances such as on yield, price variance, inventory provisions and write downs.
- Understand the financial impacts, to inform and challenge financial performance of Opex in Production & Supply chain.
- Present results to the respective directors and highlight risks and opportunities.
- Ensure the financial results have integrity and to challenge the accounting information presented.
- Work with Group Operations on monthly reporting and Group initiatives.
- Ad hoc financial projects within the Production & supply chain functions.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Accountant with manufacturing experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commercially curious mindset.
- Business partnering experience with non-Finance stakeholders at Director level, with demonstrated success of driving positive outcomes.
- Experience of using an integrated ERP package, ideally SAP.
- Comfortable working autonomously with experience in a finance business partnering capacity from manufacturing.
