Aila is excited to be partnered exclusively in a campaign with a well-run, exciting and ambitious business in Chelsea, London as we hire a Qualified Financial Controller to join on a permanent basis. We have supported them for several years and have seen them continue to grow and develop into a leading, multi-site firm across London.

The role:
The Financial Controller is responsible for the accounting operations, preparing financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulations. You will report to the Managing Director and provide monthly commentary on management accounts and support decision making for better reporting, cash flow management and potential future acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily financial activities to ensure smooth operating of the business.
- Own the banking and cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger management.
- Control the daily cash management and cash forecasting, allocating and reconciling balances and managing the relationship with bank.
- Management of order to cash processes and the creation of sales invoices.
- Processing purchase invoices and submitting for approval, including the reconciliation of supplier accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and schedules such as income accruals, overhead accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
- Deliver monthly business performance reports to the Directors, and owning the annual budget, regular business forecasts, and cost centre reporting.
- Monthly payroll for 40+ employees using Sage 50 payroll, ensuring any changes are recorded correctly.
- Responsible for calculating commission payments and conducting a monthly review meeting with Managing Director.
- Consult with the external accountants to ensure the delivery of the annual Financial Statements, Corporation Tax, and other matters.
- Oversee the annual renewal of the insurance policies and provide the brokers with the required information.
- Ensure policies, procedures and systems are designed to safeguard assets, promote operational efficiency, and mitigate risks such as frauds and errors.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with comfort in operating in a sole role.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
- Understanding of how data can be used to drive business performance.
- Ability to build relationships internally with stakeholders of varying levels.
