Responsibilities include conducting mental health assessments, communicating with psychiatrists in determining level of care needed, facilitating admissions and referrals to and from other agencies and treatment centers, conducting pre-certifications and utilization reviews, and fostering positive relationships with all referral sources. The Clinician is required to have excellent verbal and written communication skills to assure accurate coordination of care.
Job Duties:
- Addressing needs of telephonic callers seeking assistance
- Performing level of care mental health assessments
- Documenting in the electronic medical record
- Coordinating patient care with internal and external providers
- Maintaining department records/statistics
- Completing pre-certifications and utilization reviews as needed
- Participating in patient safety activities
- Receiving and documenting physician orders as it pertains to admissions and/or patients in intake
- Providing appropriate medical treatment within the scope of practice for an RN
- Documenting and coordinating external transfers via MOT for patients experiencing a medical emergency in intake
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Nurse Degree from accredited university. Registered Nurses (RNs) encouraged to apply. Minimum one year experience in mental health setting performing assessments.
