The Opportunity

AIISIKI Media is a London-based independent film production company and literary house. Through our literary imprint, unWritten Minds, we are building a platform for provocative thought leadership, critical essays, and articles on culture, society, and the arts. We are dedicated to amplifying diverse and emerging voices.

We are growing our flagship publication, the unWritten Minds Substack, and are seeking passionate Volunteer Writers to join our founding cohort. This is a chance to be there from the very beginning, to help shape the voice of a new publication, and to build your portfolio with a media company that values bold ideas.

We are particularly interested in writers who can dissect the intersection of culture, social issues, and the arts with clarity and a unique perspective. We do however, value passion over experience.

Your Role

Writer

As a Contributor, you will have significant autonomy to:

• Propose, write, and self‑edit 1–2 compelling articles or essays per month.
• Help define the tone, style, and key themes of unWritten Minds through your work.
• Potentially take on a lead role as we grow, shaping our future editorial direction.

Editor

As the Editor, you will be the architectural force behind our publication\'s voice and quality. Your primary mission will be to elevate our writers\' work, with the creative autonomy to:

• Lead the editorial process: provide substantive and copy edits for all articles published under unWritten Minds, ensuring clarity, argument strength, and grammatical precision.
• Define the voice: establish and enforce the editorial style, tone, and quality standards that will become synonymous with our brand.
• Collaborate with writers: work directly with our Volunteer Writers to develop their ideas and refine their drafts through constructive feedback.
• Manage the pipeline: oversee the editorial calendar and publication schedule to ensure a consistent flow of high‑quality content.

Ideal Candidate

• Are a self‑starter who doesn\'t wait for assignments but generates great ideas.
• Have a strong, distinct voice and can write clearly and persuasively.
• Are passionate about building something new and leaving your mark.
• Understand this is a volunteer role to build a shared creative project.
