We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our rapidly growing family owned SME. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to work with a forward thinking senior management team to truly make this role their own. You will be expected to oversee all aspects of financial management including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and will play a pivotal role in producing insightful financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision making.
Responsibilities
- Lead, support and further develop a small finance team, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting to enhance overall gross margin and operational transparency.
- Oversee day to day finance operations including VAT, reconciliations, payables/receivables.
- Budgeting & Forecasting, prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Cost Accounting and Analysis, including analysis of all business costs such as labour and overheads.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Analyse all financial data to identify trends and implement any opportunities for improvement.
- Preparation of year end accounts and all external financial reports.
- Forecast cash flow and support cost saving initiatives across procurement and operations.
- Monitor financial performance against KPIs and business targets.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within a financial management role.
- Proficiency in using financial software systems such as Sage or Business Cloud for general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable processing, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams through complex financial concepts such as profit & loss analysis, cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Exceptional communication skills for interpreting financial reports and preparing comprehensive financial statements.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
