How you will create an impact:

  • The Reporting Manager role will work as part of the UK Controllership team who are responsible for the delivery of the US GAAP and UK GAAP quarterly close process, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness of group, Board and other internal reporting deliverables.
  • This role will also provide analytical review and challenge on reporting processes in the Controllership team.
  • Working with the onshore and offshore teams to deliver a robust, efficient and accurate process for AIG UK’s financial results on both US GAAP and UK GAAP basis.
  • Provide analytical review, challenge and reporting of AIG UK financial results for US GAAP, UK GAAP / Board.
  • Present Board presentations to the CFO, suggest improvements and capture edits.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to drive internal and external reporting consistency, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Critically challenge the inputs and outputs to the close process to drive improvement.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and develop remediation plans.
  • Ensure SOX compliance (where applicable) and identify opportunities to improve internal control environment.
  • Support the audit process.
  • Support Tax and other ad-hoc data requests.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • US GAAP / UK GAAP: Strong insurance accounting technical knowledge.
  • Experience of working in financial services environment in large and complex organizations with complex systems.
  • Strong detailed analytical skills.
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders across the business.
  • Self-starter, team player and able to manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and priorities.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
