As a Major Loss Claims Adjuster, you will handle marine claims with varying complexity, with a greater focus on Major loss files. Responsibilities include starting from first notification through policy & legal liability assessment, quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution, while mitigating indemnity and expense exposure. You will communicate developments and outcomes to all key stakeholders (internal and external) and provide high-quality customer service in accordance with claims handling best practices and legal, regulatory, and compliance standards.

As a Senior Claims professional, you are respected for your deep technical expertise. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk-oriented mindset. You take ownership of key outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate broadly with internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Contribute to maintaining best practice procedures for Marine claims, aligned with global standards.
- Handle Marine claims within your authority limits.
- Provide claims trend analysis feedback to the team and stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with underwriters, clients, brokers, and other relevant parties.
- Attend claims reviews and travel as necessary.
- Support senior Grade 22 Major Loss Adjusters in managing larger, complex claims when needed.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior team members.
- Assist the UK Head of Marine Claims with performance tasks and reporting.
- Support ad-hoc projects for the team and management.
- Help manage operational relationships and quality assurance issues with Shared Services.
- Oversee TPA performance and management.
- Deliver training and presentations to internal and external audiences to demonstrate thought leadership.
What we are looking for:
- Experience handling Marine claims, particularly Cargo, with beneficial experience in Fine Art and Specie; other marine claims experience is also considered.
- Knowledge of Marine policy language for accurate interpretation.
- Experience managing lawyers, surveyors, experts, and legal expenses.
- Strong communication skills for client and stakeholder presentations.
- Good understanding of legal, regulatory, and litigation procedures specific to Marine claims.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency with market IT systems and Microsoft applications.
- Proactive in identifying process improvements and capable of executing transformation projects.
