How you will create an impact:

  • Drive profitable growth in Casualty by working on creative solutions for complex risks, underwriting a range of new and renewal business using proven relationship building skills.
  • Work closely with brokers to communicate risk appetite and value proposition, understand deal structures, negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients.
  • Generate new business by expanding broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market.
  • Collaborate with AIG Distribution, territory managers, and underwriters in other business lines to target desirable accounts and cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Based in the London office, use relationships in the London market and build new business partnerships across London and South East geographies.
  • Set a high standard of customer service to brokers and clients, provide guidance, mentoring and training to less‑experienced underwriters, and support them in building their broker network.
  • Use pricing tools and judgement to produce technical target premium, coverage terms/conditions and deal structure.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Experience in a commercial insurance environment from a company, agency or brokerage role.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships internally and externally with an interest in mentoring and training more junior AIG employees.
  • Strong knowledge of: technical & regulatory framework of UK Line of Business including product features, forms, regulatory environment and risks; corporation laws and legislation in client country; analytical skills to interpret actuarial pricing guidelines; sales, negotiation and presentation skills – written and verbal.
  • Highly motivated and results driven.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, adapt to changing requirements and collaborate with a wide range of colleagues to deliver solutions in mono and multi‑line contexts.
  • High degree of comfort with analytical tools and technology.
  • Ability to communicate AIG Risk Appetite and Value proposition, and reason behind generated premium, terms and conditions.
  • Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can‑do attitude.
  • Awareness of developments and trends in the Commercial Insurance sector relating to Casualty products.
