Join us as a Senior Underwriter / Underwriter to make a greater impact through your technical expertise and people skills. AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. We are reimagining how we help customers to manage risk, transforming our operating model, and reshaping our role responsibilities and career pathways.
The role is a 12 month FTC to cover maternity leave in the team. This role will have access and visibility to senior decision makers and an ability to make a real impact in the market with key broker partners. This role is your opportunity to drive profitable growth in Real Estate, UK Commercial Property by working on creative solutions for complex risks. You will be responsible for underwriting a range of new and renewal business, using your proven relationship building skills.
We want you to work closely with brokers to communicate risk appetite and our value proposition – and to understand the deal structures, terms and products that best meet clients’ needs. You will then negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients. It will be important to generate new business by expanding your broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market. You will collaborate with AIG Distribution, territory managers, and underwriters in other business lines to target desirable accounts and cross-selling opportunities.

- Proven underwriting experience, with good knowledge of Real Estate insurance or industry
- The ability to analyze large data sets
- Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills
