AIG UK Underwriting Business Operations is an exciting and dynamic business area. The Underwriting Business Operations team is the intersection between our Underwriting activity and the servicing of our business, ensuring we deliver our promises to brokers and clients externally.

Reporting directly to the UK and Global Specialty Chief Operating Officer, this role offers great career progression, a platform to further develop leadership skills, a unique perspective to enhance your understanding of the underwriting business, and broader business acumen. In this role, you will make a real impact by playing a critical part in enhancing and further developing the UK underwriting business operations success.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership to the UK Contract Centres with responsibility for 50 employees onshore and offshore.
  • Support the day‐to‐day operations of the Underwriting Service Centre, ensuring consistent, high‐quality service delivery to underwriting teams and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Operations Business and Underwriting teams and leadership to align operational strategies with business objectives.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy and turnaround times.
  • Manage and enhance performance metrics, reporting and analytics to drive accountability and data‐informed decision‐making across different areas of the business.
  • Oversee resource planning, workflow management and workload balancing across teams.
  • Support the UK and Global Specialty COO with oversight, reporting and governance of the UK and Global Specialty Operational Performance.
  • Research, compile, analyse and summarise data for special projects and/or reports.
  • Maintain strong and effective relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure business operations service delivery meets expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, standard operating procedures and system efficiencies.
  • Apply analytics for operational performance measurement, benchmarking and competitive analysis around key areas.
  • Partner with other areas of the business including Finance, Technology and Data to problem‐solve and develop solutions.
  • When necessary present as a senior leader in the absence of the UK and Global Specialty COO.

What You'll Need To Succeed:

  • Experience operating in a large financial services organisation or a consultancy firm with a proven track record of leading cross‐functional initiatives.
  • Passion for driving a culture of operational excellence across the organisation; analytical mindset, able to work with data and metrics to drive process improvements.
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity, conflict and difficult situations.
  • Strong people‐management skills, with proven ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Experience in the Insurance Industry and a strong understanding of Underwriting Operations (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‐management skills.
  • Proficiency in change‐management methodologies and tools.
  • Global mindset and approach.
