How you will make an impact
The role of the DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering Lead is to provide strategic guidance and work within the EMEA CM team to evolve the ecosystem, automate and contribute to a more efficient release platform. This individual will play a crucial role in an agile team, focusing on the enhancement, construction, and delivery of trusted, technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner which aligns to AIG GI Technology standards.
This is a role for a highly motivated individual with knowledge of operating and evolving different projects based on different technologies stacks. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and can identify opportunities and translate these into tangible actional transition plans. The role requires a collaborating team player who can influence change, lead best practices and drive toward solutions.
Some of the key responsibilities include:

Working cross functionally with other teams, with an ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to create solutions that drive better ways of working and create efficiencies.

Acting as an internal ‘technical consultant’ to advise and guide on best steps to deliver greater efficiencies in an effective manner.

Designing, proposing, and driving strategies around complex and unique technical problems affecting the business needs, communicating standards, and getting buy-in on solutions.

Establishing thought leadership for automation integration utilizing the DevOps toolsets that fosters secure, performance and high-quality releases on-demand with self-service.

Coaching and supporting the multidisciplinary CM team in solution techniques and good practices, ensuring high quality delivery.

Leading evaluation sessions with CM team and other internal stakeholders to drive outcomes oriented, supporting consistent, efficient solutions that align with AIG IT Global Operating model.
What you\’ll need to succeed

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information technology or related field.

Demonstrated hands on experience on highly available hybrid cloud environments from a DevSecOps perspective.

Solid experience with automation, application testing, scripting, and CI/CD delivery methods.

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and lead of team of professionals.

Advanced understanding of Agile, DevOps methodologies and practices.

Deep understanding of the security and compliance standards, and their implementation.

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross functional teams.

Capability to document and present technology in a way that reaches to all audiences (technical and non-technical).

Experience building and supporting a microservice architecture with different orchestrators in production.

CI / CD pipelines development, Linux, containerization and associated toolsets (GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory etc.)
