AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals.

  • Business Process
  • Lead a team of underwriters in the area of Crisis Solutions and KRE and retain and profitably grow an existing significant book of business.
  • Handle underwriting referrals within agreed decision making standards, limitations, and underwriting authority.
  • Assess desirability of risk through analysis of financial reports and accounts (as required); regular contact with brokers; thorough review of proposal; and review of claims history and general company information.
  • Use designated Underwriting system(s) to streamline underwriting and information‑tracking approach across Profit Centre.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate capture of data relevant to this business by the underwriting team and functions.
  • Customer and Sales
  • Together with our crisis solutions vendors and other parts of the AIG & Talbot organisation where appropriate, originate business opportunities from existing and prospective clients to cater to their crisis response and/or KRE exposures.
  • Provide excellent service to brokers through consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting.
  • Exhibit sales orientated behaviours, defined by Management as: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
  • Generate new business by expanding broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market.
  • Serve as guide, thought leader and/or referral point for all Crisis Solutions – Kidnap & Ransom Underwriters and other AIG Profit Centres.
  • Connect Underwriters with brokers.

  • Ensure all brokers and clients are treated fairly.
  • Ensure customer‑centric approach.
  • Reporting / Compliance
  • Ensure contract certainty.
  • Conduct self‑audit as required.
  • Ensure compliance with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities.
  • What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Solid/proven underwriting or broking experience is required in the Crisis Solutions and Kidnap & Ransom classes.
  • Proven ability to present and sell Crisis Solutions and Kidnap & Ransom to clients.
  • Full understanding of AIG UK’s Crisis Solutions and Kidnap & Ransom product.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Time management – ability to handle multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyse financial statements.
  • Ability to network and build relationships.
